Offers many different types of supports for successful day-to-day home life, the Division of Community Living promotes opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities in and around Buffalo NY to live in a setting that best meets their needs and desires. Services can be provided in Erie and Chautauqua counties.

Individual Residential Alternatives (IRAs):

IRAs offer opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities of varying capabilities to live in a setting consistent with the person’s need for support.Staff is available based on the individual’s needs and can be supported up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Aspire operates 43 groups homes around WNY that support 320 individuals.

Community Supports & Independent Living:

Aspire can work with an individual and the important people in their lives to plan and develop their preferred living arrangements. Aspire staff, through Community Habilitation and Self Directed Supports, provide skills training and development so the person can live as independently as possible. Shared living opportunities to address day-to-day living expenses can also be explored.

Community Habilitation at Home:

Community Habilitation is provided by trained Aspire staff in a person’s own home. This support assists the individual and their circle of support to develop and expand what’s important to the individual and for the individual.

Community Supports:

Aspire offers hourly and overnight respite services designed to give family members a break from the rigors of caring for a person with a developmental disability. See our Respite services page for more information on Buffalo and WNY locations.
