Quality Partnership on Diversity and Inclusion (QPDI)
Striving for Inclusion and Diversity
Aspire of WNY’s Quality Partnership on Diversity and Inclusion’s (QPDI) purpose is to nurture and sustain an inclusive culture, where we value and recognize our differences and allow them to drive our initiatives and solutions to better support people receiving our services and our workforce at Aspire of WNY. The members of this QP were hand selected based on a thorough application process. This is a rather new Quality Partnership at Aspire of WNY, but already they have enlightened and informed our entire organization as well as our Social Media communities about:
-
- Black History Month
- Women’s History Month
- World Autism Month
- Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month
- Pride Month
- The 21 Day Racial Equity Challenge
- Tributes to Breonna Taylor and George Floyd
- Juneteenth
- Hispanic Heritage Month
- Indigenous People’s Day
QPDI’s first major project back in March 2021 was conducting an agency-wide survey (Diversity, Inclusion & Equity Survey) in order to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities at Aspire of WNY in regard to diversity, inclusion and equity so that we may improve in these areas in the workplace. The survey results ultimately determined the initiatives and focus of QPDI so that it may meet its goals and live up to its purpose. The first three identified goals based on the results of the survey are:
- Hesitancy to discuss difficult topics and finding ways to engage people in diversity, inclusion and equity discussion and/or initiatives
- Agency-wide Implicit Bias Training
- Defining and exploring what is known as Equity
