Aspire of WNY’s Center for Learning (CFL) kicked off the school year with its highly anticipated, first ever, Family Meet & Greet!
On Tuesday, September 8th, families had the opportunity to visit the school and the dedicated staff who will be supporting them throughout the school year! We are excited to say that we had over 43 families take advantage of our Meet & Greet!
For families, especially families of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, starting a new school year can be exciting, but can also come with many questions and sometimes uncertainty. Events like this can provide an opportunity for families to meet face to face, become familiar with where their child goes everyday, and build relationships with the people who support their children! It is also an easy way for families to be able to ask questions and allow their child to meet their teachers for the first time before the school year begins! All of this will allow a more confident relationship with the families of the people we support and the staff at the CFL.
During their time at the school, families were able to connect with their child’s therapists, teachers, vision staff, other teachers, CFL Leadership, and so much more! They also connected with Aspire of WNY’s Outreach team to see what other opportunities are available for their children or what will be available at our agency as they grow older!
The mission of Aspire of WNY’s CFL is to enhance the lives of our students by providing the highest quality education and services for developmental disabilities, using state-of-the-art technology, equipment, instructional strategies and therapeutic interventions. Our school that supports children with intellectual and developmental disabilities now features state-of-the-art technology, 100% accessibility, 21st-century environmental controls, and specialty spaces, including a Cafetorium, Life Skills classroom, and walking track.
