Casting Votes for Creativity at Aspire of WNY’s 2025 Art Jury Event!

On the evening of April 24, Aspire of WNY’s Multi-Purpose Room at our Audubon location was completely transformed, floor to ceiling, into a full-fledged gallery space for the annual Art Jury event, giving the Met a run for its money!

Previously an invite-only event, this year marked the second time that Art Jury was open to the public, thanks to growing interest from the community. The event welcomed guests from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., drawing in employees, individuals supported by the agency, friends, family, and art lovers alike, all eager to celebrate the creative endeavors of the agency’s iXpress artists.

The Art Jury serves as a preview for the agency’s much-anticipated Art & Wine Celebration coming up in September. During the event, guests were invited to vote for their ten favorite pieces, helping decide which works will be featured in the upcoming event’s original sale, silent auction, and live auction.

Guests mingled over glasses of wine and a variety of local brews, generously donated by Southern Tier Brewing Company. Cozy Catering offered a delicious spread of hors d’oeuvres and finger foods that kept guests coming back for more. Outside, the sun stuck around into the evening, encouraging guests to spill out onto the back patio with their drinks and conversation after they made sure to cast their votes.

“We love being part of the process—helping decide what we’ll get to see at our favorite event of the year,” shared one guest. “There’s something really special about seeing the artwork in person before the big day. It makes you feel more connected, both to the art and to the incredibly creative individuals supported by the iXpress program.”

With the Art & Wine Celebration right on the horizon, everyone at Aspire of WNY is thrilled to continue shining a light on the incredible talent of our iXpress artists, and we’re so grateful to the community for being part of the journey! Stay tuned for the Art & Wine Celebration date coming soon, and be sure to mark your calendars for the agency’s Art on the Lake event, happening July 24th on Chautauqua Lake!
