Aspire is proud to serve those with Autism in Western New York

Aspire of WNY provides services for individuals with autism in Western New York and the greater Buffalo area. We offer specialized programs for children, teens, and adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities.

35 percent of young adults (ages 19-23) with autism have not had a job or received postgraduate education after leaving high school. This is where our Employment, Day, and Transition Services come into play. Aspire of WNY Employment, Day and Transition Services helps individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals for employment or developing career skills.

  • Becoming a volunteer in their community
  • Developing skills to be more independent that are based on their own needs
  • Creating personal relationships
  • Developing self-expression skills

For Western New York individuals with autism transitioning from high school to the next level of life we offer many services, including:

Vocational Profiles – An approach based on the individual, through an in depth evaluation of the developmentally disabled person’s skills, learning abilities, interests, and opportunities for work in the Western New York area.

World of Work (W.O.W.)™ – Through internships and volunteer opportunities, high school students are introduced to the “real life” work environment throughout the school year. Individuals with autism or any developmental disabilities will learn about employer expectations, etiquette, and various pre-employment skill building.

Educational Coaching/College Support Plans – Support plans are designed to prepare the student for a seamless transition from high school into college life.

Project SEARCH – A nationally accredited, collaborative, business-led effort offering Western New York high school students with autism with the opportunity to attend classes and internships at a local business, with a goal toward employment upon graduation.
