B-I-N-G-O, and Spirit was his name-o! Aspire of WNY’s Celebrations Committee welcomed staff, along with their family and friends, for a Sunday afternoon filled with some friendly competition at the Center for Learning on March 2, 2025. Guests came together for delicious food, lots of laughter and 10 buzzing rounds of bingo.
The doors opened at 1:30 p.m., and by 2:00, numbers were being called. Players marked their boards in various patterns—four corners, diagonal lines, an “X,” and more—guaranteeing lots of opportunity to be named a winner!
Over ten thrilling rounds, lucky winners eagerly shouted “BINGO!” and rushed to the prize table to claim their rewards. Prizes catered to all ages, with adults choosing from a variety of gift cards, wine, liquor, lottery tickets, and more. Children picked out toys, games, stuffed animals, and arts and crafts supplies, ensuring there was truly something for everyone.
Keeping up with the excitement, pizza, pop, snacks, and cookies were served—all included in the ticket price. Each ticket got players 5 rounds of bingo, with additional boards available for purchase for those who were really feeling lucky!
The cafetorium at the CFL was filled with laughter and suspense as players waited for their numbers to be called. Candyce Adams, Program Coordinator at Aspire of WNY, took on the role of announcer, making sure to read off each number with great enthusiasm and humor. Her playful rhymes, such as “I-28, Aspire is great!” drew cheers from the audience, and by the end of the game, the crowd had memorized each rhyme and did not hesistate to shout along with her!
“This was hands down the most fun I’ve had on a Sunday in a long time! It was so nice to spend time with my coworkers outside of work and just have fun together. I can’t wait for the next one,” shares Shana Kuras, Special Events Coordinator at Aspire of WNY.
The Bingo Celebration was truly one for the books here at Aspire of WNY! With exciting prizes, delicious food, and plenty of laughter, it was the perfect way to bring staff together for a fun-filled Sunday afternoon.
