Hole in one! Aspire of WNY proudly hosted its annual “Going Fore the Green” golf tournament at Park Country Club in Williamsville on Monday, June 3rd. The event drew in golfers across Western New York for a bright, sunny day on the impeccable 18-hole course.
Upon arrival, golfers were warmly greeted and served lunch, accompanied by a complimentary solo-stove gift, perfect for summer nights ahead! Golfers could enter their names in the drawing for various basket raffles and 50/50 and joker board drawings.
Once settled, the golfers assembled in their carts at the course’s start. Tommy, the golf pro at Park Country Club, provided a quick rundown of rules and regulations. Renee Filip, President and CEO at Aspire of WNY, took to the podium to welcome the attendees and express gratitude for their support.
Renee introduced Sean, an individual supported by Aspire of WNY, who delivered a performance of the Jimi Hendrix rendition of the National Anthem. After the anthem, a shotgun start signified the beginning of the scramble format tournament.
Throughout the course, beverage carts offered refreshments, including donations from Labatt, and additional beverage huts were available. After rounds started to come to an end, golfers returned to the patio for an open bar and a luxurious buffet-style dinner featuring a raw seafood bar. The event provided wonderful networking opportunities as attendees mingled over dinner.
Renee Filip returned to the podium to thank everyone for participating in the event and to announce the tournament winners, the foursome from Walsh Duffield. “We were blessed with a beautiful day, and Park Country Club provided incredible hospitality for our golfers. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors as well as everyone from our agency who helps make this event such a success year after year and, most importantly, helps us to raise vital funds that allow the individuals we support to realize their full potential and live as independently as possible,” says Renee.
