Steve approaches the creative arts with a truly refreshing sense of whimsy and freedom. Though relaxed and casual in most settings, he often begins each composition with much deliberation, setting out first with an idea or vision. Having a fascination with natural forces such as wind and water, Steve explores the themes of flight, floatation, ecology, and cosmology. Steve enjoys interpreting landscapes when painting in a representational style: in scenes of flowers, blue skies, and friendly waters. In addition to working in the visual arts, Steve composes moving and sometimes humorous poetry, the themes of which are similar to those found in his artwork.
