Work in an EXCTING and MEANINGFUL field teaching children with developmental disabilities ages Preschool to 21 years old at our Center for Learning in Cheektowaga, NY.
Aspire of WNY is hiring for the following positions:
Special Education Teacher – New York State Certification in Special Education is required. Background in Positive Behavior Support and Multiple Disabilities preferred.
Behavior Specialist Teacher – This position provides support to teachers, staff and students, as well as the implementation of behavior support plans and ongoing behavior needs for students who have developmental disabilities. Must possess a New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Special Education or related field with experience in direct service to children using Positive Behavior Supports required.
Teacher of the Visually Impaired – This position will assist students who have visual impairments achieve maximum independence through instruction in a safe environment within the home, school, and community. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of this job include but not limited to, braille instruction and transcription, identifying appropriate instructional materials and equipment as well as assessing and instructing visually impaired students. Valid New York State Teacher Certification in addition to completing a New York State registered program for Teacher of the Visually Impaired required.
Hourly rate of pay: $30.52 – $34.72
