The Irises

Shelby Hazzard

“Irises” by this lovely artist was done almost as a reverse paint pour.  With support, Shelby laid down thinned paint on to a piece of cellophane.  Using a long dowel as her brush, she swirled and mixed the paint until it was to her liking.  Shelby and the instructor then put a canvas face down on top of the paint.  Using a large spatula, they rubbed the backside of the canvas to spread the joy on the opposite side.  Once lifted up this beautiful depiction of a flower emerged.  Shelby loves doing art and enjoys helping us make a creative mess in the art room.  She is bubbly and happy as her work always shows.
