Help Aspire Complete a New Playground at the Center for Learning

April showers bring May flowers and in Western New York, it brings optimism that we’ve seen the last of the snow for a while. For Aspire of Western New York this year, the warmer weather also presents an opportunity to begin installing a new, fully-accessible playground that the students at our Center for Learning on Union Road in Cheektowaga can utilize for socialization, therapeutic and sensory stimulation.

Riding the wave of our extraordinarily successful capital campaign that resulted in the renovation and expansion of the school, we turned our sights towards raising enough funds to install a new outdoor play structure that focuses on movement, inclusiveness and sensory stimulation and also reflects the quality of the completed building.

Thanks to early support from the Buffalo Sabres Foundation, The Children’s Guild Foundation, the Josephine Goodyear Foundation and many other donations from individuals, companies and small fundraisers, we’ve raised enough to begin installation of a base play structure that we can then expand upon to achieve the complete wish list that was developed by the students and staff.

We’re at nearly 50% of our goal to complete the project and hope to complete our effort this year. Please consider supporting us by contacting Michael Holley, Aspire’s vice president of development, at or at (716) 505-5512. You may also visit the school and support their basket raffle fundraiser on Saturday, May 6th, from 12pm to 3pm.

Happy Spring!
