How did your passion for helping people with disabilities come about?
I started working as a teacher, helping people learn the skills they
needed as they moved from institutional settings to homes in the
community. My passion is working with people... people who want a
chance to learn new things such as moving around by using a power
wheelchair, or speaking up for themselves by using a communication
system, going to kindergarten in their home school district or getting a
new job. I also am lucky enough to work with their families and the
staff who support them.
