The Children’s Discovery Corner provides integrated child care to children 18 months to 12 years of age. Children are offered the unique and enriching opportunity to develop lasting friendships with children who have special needs. Specific programs include infants and toddler groups, preschool, before and after school care, and summer camp. The infants and toddlers program provides developmentally appropriate play in a nurturing environment.

Preschool

Our programs combine a developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum with an environment that encourages exploration, discovery and independence. Class activities are coordinated through themes that meet the individual needs and interests of the students.

An early childhood education teacher staffs our classroom cluster with an assistant and/or teacher’s aide. Certified special education teachers team teach with our early childhood education teachers, resulting in a program that emphasizes the individual strengths and needs of all children, as well as cooperative learning. Parents are kept informed through monthly newsletters, weekly calendars of themes, and associated class activities that are sent home via the children’s belongings.

Some class activities include:

• Outdoor Activities (weather permitting)
• Gymnasium and Motor Room Activities
• Music & Movement Classes (taught by our licensed music therapist)

For School Age Children:

Our Before-School, After-School, and Summer Camp programs have been developed for children ages 6 to 12. They take into consideration the varying needs and requirements of the different ages of children in that group.

Developed around a variety of themes, activities include:

• Sports
• Arts and Crafts
• Science
• Reading
• Research
• Field Trips

Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 6:00pm
Full day and half day rates are available.
