Jack Frost was nipping at our noses, but everyone’s spirits were warm at the first ever Aspire Night on the Slopes. Nearly 130 people enjoyed a night of skiing, boarding and tubing at Kissing Bridge on Thursday, February 5. The event also included an all-you-can-eat buffet and a basket auction.
The fundraiser grossed close to $9,000 in gifts and contributions. Proceeds will support more than 2,800 children and adults with developmental disabilities served by Aspire.
Peter Rice, Aspire Foundation board president, came up with the idea. “It was great to see our families and friends having a fun night supporting Aspire," said Peter. "We couldn’t have been happier with the turnout. I look forward to the event growing even more next year.”

Aspiring Artists Art & Wine Celebration

The 2008 Aspiring Artists Art & Wine Celebration grossed a record $66,000 in gifts and contributions. More than 700 people attended the fifth annual event.
Proceeds from the celebration – which was presented by Waterbourne Real Estate Advisors, LLC and Waterbourne Construction Advisors, LLC – will allow more individuals with disabilities to develop their artistic talents at Aspire’s iXpress Art Program.
Aspiring Artists featured a live auction and sale of artwork created by the iXpress artists. Guests also enjoyed live music by Universal Mind, a band sponsored by Aspire. 97 Rock’s Larry Norton served as auctioneer.
Jack Walsh III, Aspire Foundation board member, was event chair. Sleight of hand magic tricks were performed by Garrett Thomas, the popular local magician, artist and writer for David Blaine. Wine tasting was provided by Empire Merchants North and Barefoot Wines. Beer tasting was provided by Flying Bison Brewing Company. Wegmans was the event’s featured culinary sponsor.

Going for the Green Golf Tournament - 18th Annual

Over $100,000 was raised at the 18th annual Going for the Green, presented by Dopkins & Company, LLP. Nearly 200 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day at Brookfield. The money raised will assist in purchasing accessible vans and augmentative communications equipment.
